Chapter 8: The origin of the human.
Fossils and genetic evidence has been obtained on human origins. The human odyssey began six or seven million years ago with a population of hundreds of apes living near the center Africa. Earths climate was changing and foods were disappearing. We will never know the full story in all its drama and challenges. A band on several men, women, and children spread and multiplied throughout the centuries.
Chapter 9: Becoming a Planetary Presence.
Some people were different. Reindeer people, whale people, birds and feathers. Some humans ventured out of Africa fifty thousand years ago, reaching North America some eight thousand or more years ago. In another thousand years they were already at the Southern tip of South America. A vast number of mammals and spices disappeared, including the large animals. There is both power and poignancy to the human story. The emergency of civilization was a major event in the complexifying of the Earth. Modern humans transformed the planet into a bundle of resources.
Chapter 10: Rethinking Matter and Time.
Newton and Galileo was two very important people. As these two scientist were outlining a new understand of matter, Rene Descartes promoted that matter is passive and inert, while the mind only exist only in human brain. Only humans has thoughts and feeling. Animals and other nature operated like a machine. Our commitment towards the natural world has led to the withering of Earths ecosystem. Life on land and in the ocean is collapsing. The traditional, sense of time, the cycle of nature, was abandon at the beginning of the modern era. But a deeper understanding of time has surfaced within our investigation of nature.
Chapter 11: Emerging Earth Community.
There is nothing more mysterious than density of a person, species, planet or of the universe itself. Becoming a form of human is as natural to the universe as the stars and oceans. Knowing how and where you belong enhances the Earths community. We are searching for ongoing guidance. We will need to know what we can rely on. In order to move to the future we need to know what will be there for us. The oceans will also be our guidance to our journey in the future. Our human density is to become the heart of the universe.
